Texas Snow
By Tyler Morrison
Summer turns to sunset; I cannot turn away. This vision brings the onset Of wonder and dismay. September leaves Do as they please Just like my dreams. They turn their colors And then scatter in the breeze. And come October, You might find me sober. For now I’m drunk on love. Love lost, I’ll be hung over. After November, I can’t imagine or remember What to expect except The summer’s end all over. The vestige of warmth Withers in the winter. Will this remnant Of endearments Endure December? I just don’t know, But I don’t trust her love So much as Texas snow. I just can’t know, But I don’t trust her love So much as Texas snow.
