A toast to the happy couple

I wrote this poem late last year in honor of my best friend’s wedding. I hope y’all enjoy it.

Vows - A Benediction

Y'all met online,
A manner some perhaps disparage.
But those people cannot join or break this marriage.

Others' opinions may be helpful, bad, or fine.
But they do not add to the vows you say,
And they did not speak the words today.

Only two persons can say "I do,"
And today that blessed couple is you.

So let us raise a glass and toast:
To love and duty, to honor and long life,
For Thomas Chaney and his lovely wife!
